In the 1970s and 80s, the Department of Transport and the Scottish Office published large maps to provide an update on the trunk road projects in development at the time. These offer a fascinating glimpse into the history behind some of Scotland's biggest post-war schemes. They also show the extent of the Scottish trunk road network before it was amended in 1996.
